It isn’t very often that the opening act on a tour can draw a substantial crowd over 5000 Km away from their home, but that is exactly what occurred when Boston’s Lake Street Dive opened the Commodore Ballroom stage for Josh Ritter. Between the deeply emotive vocals of singer Rachael Price, the infectious horns of Mike Olson, the thumping bass of Bridget Kearney, and the animated drumming of Mike Calabrese, the band have put together a highly appealing and accessible collection of songs which work equally great in studio as well as on stage.

Not Surprisingly, the band’s upcoming shows are currently sold out until the end of the year with additional tour dates booked in the New Year in both Australia and New Zealand. If you have a chance to catch the band live, I highly recommend you do so.
